Meal Plan 33

Well, this is the last 21-Day No-Sugar Detox meal plan...for a while anyway. My detox is over and was  very successful. Coming from a pretty clean paleo diet, it wasn't too terrible. The benefits definitely outweighed any inconvenience. Here are the major benefits of my detox:

  • Increased energy - I am waking up earlier, with no alarm, and with much more energy. I can sustain a pretty high level of energy throughout the day, but have been trying to get to bed earlier. I am also sleeping more soundly.
  • Increased strength - Within the past 21 days, I have gotten PRs on my deadlift, back squat, front squat, strict press, and thruster. It's been quite rewarding!
  • Improved recovery - My body has not been as achey and after working out, my muscles seem to recover much more quickly than before.
  • Reduced cravings - Part of the reason I decided to do this detox was to curb the sugar cravings I picked up over the holidays by eating too many treats--paleo and non-paleo. I was snacking a lot and frequently eating a little treat right before bed. After only a few days on the detox diet, those cravings went away.

I'll be posting more details on my lifestyle changes as a result of the detox on the Paleo Table Facebook page. So if you haven't already, link to it from the menu bar above and Like it! Thanks to my friends and family for all of the support I received throughout this process. And best of luck to all of you who are in the midst of a paleo challenge or lifestyle change. Feel free to post questions here or on Facebook and I'll do my best to answer them.

Enjoy this week's meals!

    1. Thanks, Jenny! I'm so glad you checked it out. It was really nice chatting with you yesterday. I think I know who your husband is but I didn't have a chance to talk to him this morning since we had a big class. Hope to see you soon. I'd love to hear what recipes you try!
